Description:

  • Prototype, Design, Bring-up and Diagnose electronics circuits, cables, fixtures, connectors and other electronics-related designs.
  • Design electronics circuits, create intelligent schematics, collaborate with peers on design reviews and sign-off.
  • Locate, read, understand manufacturer data sheets and create designs with high confidence in their function.
  • Interface and liaise with vendor sales representatives, technical support and field engineers to get questions answered.
  • Specify, review, scrub and certify BOMs (bills of material) for designs.
  • Maintain tools, equipment and lab supplies.
  • Take on the "mission" of a project, follow guidance while making intelligent decisions on the fly, and provide feedback to the Director of Engineering, Director of Quality and the Project Manager.
  • Take ownership of implementing and inspecting quality into each step of design.
  • Provide clean hand-off and guidance of designs to PCB Designers for layout.
  • Use reference boards, prior designs and bread boards, with sample components to demonstrate feasibility of design choices.
  • Use power supplies, oscilloscopes, soldering stations, and other tools to bring up boards and diagnose issues.
  • Write source code in C to implement intermediate complexity algorithms in firmware to run on various microprocessors.
  • Design jigs to increase quality, consistency and efficiency of various mechanical efforts, such as lead-bending, hole-drilling and alignments.
  • Keep the office, lab and assembly spaces organized, clean and safe.
